The Benefits of HomeLink®

These days, drivers in the Rice Lake and Hayward areas can’t afford to be disconnected while they’re on the road. After all, life doesn’t stop moving just because you’re behind the wheel. HomeLink® has the power to keep you in the loop while eliminating the stress of your day-to-day chores:

  • Ease of Use: Syncing your vehicle with the HomeLink® system is as easy as one, two, three.
  • Compatibility: The Chevy HomeLink® system can be paired with a wide range of radio-frequency controlled devices, and is compatible with almost all garage door openers and gate systems.
  • Control Up to Three Devices: You’ll be able to connect to and control three different devices on the go, without adding buttons or distractions that are only going to slow you down.
  • Safety & Security: Have you ever forgotten to close the garage door? With HomeLink®, those days will be far behind you. You can even connect to and monitor your home security system on the go, so you’ll always have peace of mind.
  • Battery-Free: HomeLink® is an in-vehicle system powered by the electrical system in your Chevrolet. That means no batteries, no cords, and no surprises.

How Do I Program HomeLink®?

The HomeLink® system is fully integrated into your vehicle, and programming the system only takes a minute! For simplicity’s sake, we’ll show you how to connect your garage door. Just take these simple steps, and you’ll be on your way in no time:

  1. Most new Chevy models host the HomeLink® system on their ceilings, above the center console. Locate the HomeLink® interface, then press and hold the first and third buttons. Your vehicle’s interior lights should begin to flash after 20 seconds or so. Tip: After the initial setup, holding down the first and third buttons for 20 seconds will perform a master reset. You can skip this step when adding other devices.
  1. When the interior ceiling lights are flashing, press and hold the button you wish to program (1st, 2nd, or 3rd), while holding the open/close button on your garage door opener. When the rate of flashing goes from slow to fast, you’ll know that the two buttons are now synced.
  2. Next, go to your garage door and press the “Learn” button.
  3. Return to your car and hold down the button you just programmed for at least 2-3 seconds. If the lights on your garage door opener flash, you’re fully synced and ready to go.

Are you trying to connect a different device? You’ll still have to hold down the button on your car while pressing the button of the device you’d like to sync, but there might be some small differences in the process.
